Credit card
I have been a customer of Menards for many years. Bought many items through them when we built our home. Recently paid off my card on the 25th of Jan. 2019 it said it was paid and then about a week later it sends me a bill for $90 for interest. Talked to credit center and they would do nothing about it because I paid it after the 21st. Cant believe they did this. You lost a customer John Menard.
Deposit
I am sending this in regards to a purchase I made on 05/23/19.I purchased some pole barn sheeting I used some rebates and some cash.I was charged a "DEPOSIT" for a 20 foot pallet that I was told I would get back in cash. When I got my order I unloaded the material at the store.I went in to get my "DEPOSIT" back and was given a in store credit Itold them I did not want a in store credit as I paid the "DEPOSIT" with cash. They told me because I used rebates I could not get cash back.Idid not purchase the whole order with rebates. The material cost me $251.84 the rebates totoled$134.99 for a differenc of $116.85 the whole bill came to $290.27 with the "DEPOSIT" for the pallet. So I think I should get my "DEPOSIT back in cash I will take the rebate back and you refund me my "DEPOSIT"money.
Wallpaper rolls
On 6/6/19 I purchased 2 rolls of wallcovering. I have not as yet received this order. My confirmation number is 15177346. Could you please help me in locating this wall covering. Thank you
In store battery operated shopping carts
Menards provides 2 carts. Every time I need to use one they are either busy or are charging. You make the stores bigger and do not increase the number of carts to accommodate handicap customers. In discussing it with your stor3e manager, he informed me he could not get any more carts through a edict sent down from above. YOUR COMPETITORS all have numerous carts and usually there is no waiting. I suggest you might put one of your bird dogs on this to evaluate the problem in other stores as we have in Appleton. You might tell John to forgo a new race car and take care of the people who pay for them. I ended up in the wheel chair being propelled by the store manager who took me to all the locations in the store for the merchandise I needed. Please look into this matter for me before I have to change suppliers.
Thank you for listening. Please let me know the results of my complaint.

Rude employee
I was in Menards in Sioux City Iowa and was treated very rudely by one of the employees when I asked him for help to find an item.
Sale price
I purchased 2 Deluxe Web Folding Chairs-#273-6420 for $24.99 each. These 2 same chairs went on sale for $21.99. I HAD/HAVE MY RECEIPT AND A COPY OF THE FLYER. I was told that I needed to bring the chairs in so the sales clerk could physically see them because it was over 14 days. I can't believe that you would ask for your customers to do this.....Very Un-Professional!!!!
Poor customer service
Bought an edgers at the Lima Menard's store which is approx 50 miles from our Coldwater home but only store who had this particular edger in stock. Two employees who were gabbing about their woes being employed at Menards watched as my husband and I lifted the 75lb box into our cart. Thankfully, a young guy who is also a model employee assisted us while the 2 gabbing employees just watched. Really. Then my husband and I upon returning home, assembled the edger in 3 1/2 hours. Poorly provided instructions. As we were starting it, pulling assembly locked up. I had had it given it took so long to assemble and now not working for whatever reason. So I spent 1 1/2 hours trying to find the right person to answer my question: why can't I return it and why do I have to get it fixed regardless of not knowing your incredibly poor policy to not be able to return merchandise upon customer's dissatisfaction..... So I found a dealer who is authorized to fix it. Operator error which we take full responsibility for.
But what really irritates me is 1. Menards return policy and most importantly, while talking to Chase the Celina Menards store manager hung up on me. He was snarky once I said that I just didn't like this edger and would like to return it. He in no terms was rude to me by saying, "Well, just because you don't like it, you can't return it." Again, REALLY. And that's when he hung up on me. To resolve this issue, I expect Chase to apologize and to allow us to return the edger.
Damaged merchandise
I bought a floor model fan on line that was delivered and the glass lens for the light is broken, would prefer a new lens rather then send the whole fan back. Please let me know the next step!

Missing parts
Hi this is Mr Jones,i ordered a pink Fur coat it was missing closings hook & eye.
Dual-Trak Shelf System
We would like to use this system for two 5 ft wide kitchen pantry cupboards we have. Menards carries the 70 inch standard in every color except white. It carries European standards in white but we want the dual trak. It carries shorter standards but we would have to attach them to the wall. Part of the reason we like this system is the ability to modify it in the future. This is the John Sterling Dual-Trak System, distributed ( made?) by KNAPE & Vogt in Grand Rapid Michigan. Why would you not carry the 70 inch in white or at least let it be special ordered?
2 recliners
I bought 2 recliners 1 14 19. The gentleman asked me if I wanted the extended protection plan (which I did) Well both chairs are falling apart. I went the route of sending pictures etc. thru this plan and never got an email back, but I received a merchandise certificate for $329.99. I called the extended protection people and she said it was for the chair that they can't repair. I bought 2 Chairs. I question about the other chair and said only 1 protection plan was purchased. Why the heck this guy give me the protection for one chair is beyond me. Called the store and they said to bring the chair back. I'm 66 and my husband is 78. Are you kidding me. The chairs are not even a year old.
Interview by HR at gull rd store kalamazoo michigan
Just a shout out there with my experience with human resource at menards . Last week 1-15-2020 went in looking for job opening they are hiring I was told . Fill out a application spoke with HR for a few min he like what he saw on my resume and ask me if I can wait about ten min he would like me to talk with there gm and warehouse manager I told him sure how long it would take cause I need to get down to employment office there staff wanted to meet with me he said 15 -20 min . I had a great interview with all present after interviewing gm ask HR to make a package up for a proposal to me . Went out of interview room to HR desk I thank him for setting this quick interview with staff and he was polite he gave me his card and said he would get back with me with a package proposal cool I hustle out of there to get to my meeting with employment office which he knew I going to. Now its 1-20-2020 haven't heard from him so I thought I call him this am after he settle in for the start to his day.
I call spoke with him and ask him and thoughts about package he was working on and he said he remember me cause I flew out of there to get my meet employment office I didn't want to be late he gave me a hour rate to start would be 11.75 hour I stated to him I cant live on that cause I been making 27.00 hr for last 5 years. His response to me was in a rudely manner that you not working now are you . Very rude to me as a 56 year man who is unemployed always been shopping at menards for many years buy there items so he can keep his job . If I knew what kind of staff they have there I would never buy there products.
Oh I should say I only live 4 blocks away from this location so yes just what you all are thinking wouldnt shop there no more is which I intend to do and letting all my family and friends on how was treated there by there HR this young man needs to go back and learn how to talk to older adults and respect them this is how are world has change I hope he never has to speak to owner of this company he may not have a job . I try just to get to speak to someone in there headquarters but no way to speak to anyone pretty poor customer service . Menards thank you again for at least letting me make a statement on my experience . I do know many people in this area .

2 items, batteries, were not available.
the total charge on the pick ticket reflects the absence of batteries. however, the charge that hit my checking account does not. I think you owe me $26.00.
Purchase of 3 outdoor garage lights
On 1/22/20 I purchase 3 outdoor garage lights from Menards for $69.97 each. The local store only had 2 on the shelf, needing to special order the 3rd one. I paid for all 3 of the lights. I took the 2 available ones home with me and called my Electrician. The store called me, saying the special order one had arrived. However, it was damaged and they needed to re-order it. I cancelled my Electrician. The store called on 1/30,20, saying the 3rd light was in and I could pick it up. I did do that and called my Electrician. They were installed. I love them!
Then, in Menards last weeks Flyer, those very same lights were advertised on sale for $44.99 each! That would be almost a $75.00 savings for me, of course. I called the store to explain the situation and was informed that more than 2 weeks had passed. How could I have that apply when the 3rd light had been special ordered, TWICE, and I had had to cancel my Electrician twice due to the special order being damaged? Figuring that out, it had been LESS than 2 weeks before I finally had all of my purchase together and ready to be installed?
The name of the fixture is Treehouse, by Patriot Lighting. Original order 1/22/20. Picked up 3rd fixture on 1/30/20. The items were put on my Visa Card. Purchase made at the Bay City, Michigan Menards on Wilder Rd. If you need any more information please contact me at the above email address. Thank you.
Price gouging
Word on the street has it that Menards has doubled prices on some household items since covid 19. Please tell me that this is all fake news.... If it's not, Menards can kiss my acct. gone... Thanks Lyle j Hames
Never got rebates
I have shopped at Menards my whole life and have always been treated fairly by your employees. But your rebate system really stinks. I sent a rebate on October 1, 2019 and October 26, 2019 and have never received them. I have notified them 5-6 times and they say they are sending it. It NEVER comes or NEVER CASHED. They blamed the Post Office. So I went there to complain and while I was there a woman came up to me and said she never received her $75 for 3 kayaks. The last two times rebates have been available, I didn't send them in because I have to beg for them. I am thinking of now shopping at Home Depot, because Menards can't stand up to its promise of a rebate. A reply would be greatly appreciated and also my rebate would be greatly appreciated. I've talked to many customers who also don't get their rebates and aren't happy either.
We pull/pick up
On Wed april 8, I had the unfortunate experience of using the we pull-pick up service at the Menards (east side) in Sioux Falls. S.D. I assumed would be able to pull up, show my pick up document and obtain my order. I went to customer service, showed them the document, and they said it would be easiest if I took a cart, went to the back corner of the store to get my order. Otherwise I could go through the outside lumber yard check booth, show my slip, drive around to find the right door, go in and ask for my order.
I chose this option. After going through the booth, finding the door, going to the desk I waited 10 minutes for someone to come to the desk and another 10 minutes for my order of 7 items to be found. Upon leaving through the check booth again, I discovered there was no receipt with the items, and finally the checkout guy let me leave. This is the most poorly constructed absurd system I have ever heard of, and for this I paid an 8.63 service charge. If your choices are either to go use a cart and go through to the back of the store or have four employee contacts to get your merchandise, what is the point? At the very least I expect my service fee to be refunded.
Poor customer service and company policy
I was shopping in your store. Am handicapped and no motorized wheelchair available. I am unable to use the other type of wheelchair. After walking for a short while I had to sit and was approached by an employee to told me I could not sit where I was. Said I would go elsewhere to sit but was told I would be unable to sit there either. Asked for a wheelchair but none available for my use. Was told I would have to leave the store and when I said I was not leaving and why would I have to they said this was the policy due to the coronavirus. Was waiting for someone to finish shopping - so unable to leave. If motorized chair available this would have been a quick trip in and out. employees not wearing mask for protection of shoppers. Police were called and I did talk with them. Treated like a piece of garbage being tossed aside. Very poor customer service and treatment. I believe this is a matter of principal - they say limited time for shopping with limited number of customers allowed. This is fine but with no chairs available for those of us who need them this takes a greater amount of time and increases exposure. Very upset here - spent thousands of dollars at this store (Menards in Findlay, Ohio) and was treated very poorly. Need education on how to treat people with respect.

Mask wearing
I see that menards is demanding that customers ware a mask to shop at menards. how dare you infringe on my rights to be mask free. I have never put one on yet or will I I will no longer set one foot in your stores for your decision to make me were a mask. hope you stay in the business but you will not get help from me.
Handicapped help
Today I bought 15 bags of landscape stone and at the gate I asked the nice young man if he could get me a little help loading it. He said sure thing and got on the radio. I went to the rock and waited. 3 guys drove by slow on forklifts but when I made eye contact with them they would look the other way to avoid having to help me. Acted like they were real busy. Not one to let cancer of the spine get me down I loaded the rock myself. When I got back to the gate I told the guard that everyone avoided me like the plague....said it didn’t surprise him one bit ! Told me they would rather shoot the crap with the women and truck drivers than help customers load products. This was Kearney Ne store. The place was a shit hole with rock and debris broken pallets in the isles making it hard to get close to the needed area.
Electric shopping carts
What the hell is the matter with you guys???
We handicapped customers who are SENIORS and VETERANS without legs AND/OR have other handicaps must use motorized shopping carts or we cannot shop at Menards. Yes, there are 2 carts in the store, however when there continue to be more and more of us aging with handicaps, 2 are not enough. I've texted you about this before. Please, please get at least 2 additional carts for the store. I shop at the West Bend store.
Thanks
Masks
Force of customer to wear masks is overstep and and is a large company forcing people to comply to someone’s personal ideals has nothing to do with safety or health! Unfortunately Menards seemed fairly conservative but Head management etc did not think this thru - I have talked with many and they said they are going somewhere else even if it cost more!
Complaint
We called in an order on 6/9/20 at the Menards Store at 2150 E. Greyhound Pass, Carmel, IN 46033. We were told to go to the back of the store to pick up our order. The clerk, Jodie L. and CARM 47089 Said the order number would be sent to our email address but it was not. When the guard at the gate, who was very impolite, stopped us he asked for our customer number and of told us to turn around and leave but we went to the back of the store and called the store. They, at first, could not find the order but finally did. When the order was brought to our van, which took 20 to 30 minutes, they forgot part of the order. They finally brought it to us. They also brought two order sheets, one for the full order and a second for a separate order of the water and that was CARM 30516. It looks like we have been charged for 8 Glaciermist Spring Water. We are both in our late 70s and this is totally unacceptable. If this is the way you treat individuals we will stop shopping at Menards and we will tell all of our friends of this terrible experience your peopl have caused us.
Very upsetting and dissatisfied,
Donald R. and Velda J. Shilts
Requiring face masks in your stores
In regards to your change requiring customers to wear face coverings in your stores : Be advised that after many years of shopping with you, I will never set foot in a Menards again. Your face covering policy is both irresponsible and ridiculous. There are millions of people in this country that have breathing issues that masks only make worse. And suggesting that they use your curb side service is also ridiculous. I will only shop at places that show respect for their customers. Apparently you aren't one of them.
Face mask
My complaint is about the mandated wearing of face masks in store. It is absolutely ludicrous to force customers to wear masks in store. Then if you don't have one you are forced to purchase one. That is a chincy way to make a dollar sale. The country is opening up. Wake up menards no other store requires this. I will boycott menards at every opportunity and go to Lowe's or Home Depot. I'm a holder of a contractor's card for the past 20 years and have spent nearly $200,000.00 in the past few years. You are going to lose a significant amount of sales if you insist on this rule.
Menards in general
Menards Location: Sidney, Ohio
Date: 6-14-2020
Menards used to be my go to store for many years over Lowes and Home Depot, but with the ongoing issue of having to wear a face mask to enter the store, or even the ability to buy merchandise has become the main issue. On June 14, 2020, I have decided to shop Menards Sidney, Ohio location entering the store without the face mask. It is my decision alone as an adult to decide if the face mask is necessary or not. I was told by a Menards Employee as I enter the store; I could not enter without one on, but entered anyways as it is my decision.
First of all, if there was an absolute risk of getting covid-19, don’t you think it would be necessary for a Menards employee to check everyone’s temperature before entering the building? Anyone could enter the building with having a fever, cold, or flu symptoms, wear a face mask, and not checked. Is this the standard practice of Menards? Is the use of the face mask really solving any real possible issue? For one, if there was a possibility of any symptoms of covid-19, as an adult, my decision would be to stay home, and not run the risk of affecting others. Wouldn’t you think this would be the census of the community?
As I was nearing the area of the checkout area for purchasing the merchandise, I was confronted again by the Manager of Menards. The question was asked if I have a mask, and my reply was no, and will always be no. The Manager’s response was out of respect, and stated I would not be allowed to make any purchases without the face mask. So, my response was to drop all the merchandise in hand, and left the store. I figured there is other box store just as good as Menards where the use of the face mask is unnecessary.
So, other businesses and restaurants in the Sidney location are not enforce the issue of the face mask, so why is Menards? Just to list a few: Bob Evans, Walmart, Tractor Supply, Krogers, Dollar General, etc……
Sorry to say, I refuse to do any more business with Menards, and will shop at other locations for my needs. One thing to take note of, Lowes is next door to Menards, and I do continue to see more shoppers there then Menards. This is not just my thoughts, but thoughts of others I communicate with. You have to ask yourself, when do you say enough is enough?
Face mask
I went into the Olathe Kansas store & was informed masks are required. The W.H.O. Has come out against masks and have stated asymptomatic was no longer an issue. I TURNED AROUND & WALKED OUT. Last year I spent almost $10,000 at your store. Walmart, Target, Lowe’s, Home Depot do not require masks. Your store is the only one requiring HEALTHY people to wear them. I will NEVER step foot into another Menards. Lowe’s, Tractor Supply, Home Depot will get my business from now on.
Weeekly ads
I am extremely disappointed that Menards has run a continuous 11% off ad since the Coronavirus started! Why don't you just rename your store The 11% Off Store! Then you can just service contractors. Over the past months I have not shopped at your store because what you offer 11% off is high ticket items only. Why don't you actually take a walk through your store and reacquaint yourself with the thousands of other products that you've avoided putting on sale for such a long time. Not everyone is a contractor or is working on a huge home remodeling project. I'll be back shopping your store as soon as you get a 'real' sale ad. One that all customers can benefit from.
Code books
How about stocking code books for electricians NFPA 70E, the books you have are fine for the DIYer but we electricians use a total different book tnx.
Wrong price for a item
I was charged more for the item at checkout. I would like to know how many items in your store are priced higher at checkout. I could tell because I only bought 1 item. How many people that buy many items would check their receipt. I think your company should pay a penalty when something like that happens. and you are caught.
Customer service link - not even human
I tried contacting experts on line: to ask why face mask are no longer being required in the Menard’s store in Milwaukee. Even though there is a name associated with the chat, it was evident after a few questions of mine, that I am chatting with a computer. POOR on-line customer service.
Industrial shelving is false advertising
I purchased nearly $1000 worth of this 'Industrial' shelving that states that it will support 2000lbs per shelf. But with right around 800 lbs on one shelf they are starting to buckles and roll. The verticals are showing signs of stress as well. This stuff has been up for less than a month. I contacted the maufacture (Edsal) as well as Menards with ZERO response at this point about a resolution. DO NOT BUY SHELVING FROM MENARDS if you need it to hold anything heavy at all. If this is for your stuffed animal collection, then that would probably be OK.
Self-service checkout
On Saturday, early evening, July 18, as usual I had purchased a lot of items. It’s so convenient to get everything from vinyl tiling to bug spray to shampoo and laundry soap!
Upon reaching the checkouts, the old familiar feelings of dread hit me. This only happens at Menards. I try to discourage myself from purchasing too many items, due to the fact that while trying to watch for correct pricing to be rang up, I am expected to do all of my bagging and pay for the purchase. Not possible!
There were customers waiting in line and I had $140 worth of misc. items, each priced under $12. So, a lot of items. I was trying to pay as the conveyor belt just kept bringing items down and crunching everything to the end of checkout.
Rather than help me bag my order, the cashier just stood watching and waiting for me to bag everything. I have complained before to no avail. Wouldn’t it make more sense to have the cashiers help bag when there are other customers waiting in line to checkout? Or when an individual appears overwhelmed and trying to hurry?
And don’t tell me it is due to covid because this has gone on always! Very few times have I ever had assistance bagging.
So, upon frantically bagging my items, as leaving the store and swearing under my breath that I would never purchase numerous items at menards ever again, I stopped and wanted to share my frustration with a young girl with a clipboard standing and watching other cashiers. She had long brownish/bling curly hair. Basically I said what I have expressed in this email, asking her if it wouldn’t make more sense to help the customers rather than just watch them trying to bag large orders.
She immediately interrupted me and said“ these are self service checkouts. Self service means you bag your own.” Then preceded to tell me “you know like at Aldis, they ring up and you bag your own things”. I then said that is why I do not shop at Aldis. Then, the young lady obnoxiously said” well then, maybe you shouldn’t shop at Menards either”.
I said, oh my, I have a feeling that is not the answer your bosses would have liked you to give. She simply stood there staring at me. I left and will never shop at Menards on ft Harrison in terre haute again. Debating whether I will just shop Lowe’s or go south to other new Menards.
I spend a lot of money at Menards! Menards used to be my go to for everything, not to mention my favorite place to shop. Cashiers name was Zale.
She will have to tell you young girls name that I spoke to after my 605 pm transaction.

Face masks
I was in Menards today and I was told I couldn't shop in the store if I didn't wear a face mask. I have COPD and face masks restrict my breathing. I have tried for several months to wear a face mask and have tried several different styles, but they all restrict my breathing. I was prepared to spend a couple thousand dollars on new appliances, but now I will go to Home Depot. I am going to get a letter from my Dr. Regarding this issue and I my even write my congressman and get a letter. Having to wear a face masks is affecting my health and well being while shopping.
Warranty on North Bay swivel rocker
I have been trying to call the phone number listed on the warranty information on the leaflet for the North Bay swivel rockers. We bought 2 five years ago and are having trouble with one of the chairs. The phone number on the leaflet is 1-844-537-0328, all I get is a busy signal.
Please let me know how or who I should be talking to. Thank you.

House and garage are loaded with this racking which has been purchased in stages over the past 10 years. Decided to put one more shelf in the garage and think your supplier is ripping you (thus me) off. Label reads = High grade steel construction; Tie supports; 2 beams support up to 2000 lbs. with 3/4 T & G shelf. Limited lifetime warranty. Bought $200+worth of shelving today and there were no Tie supports or nuts and bolts for the 6 foot version nor holes drilled in for Tie supports taped to the beams as in past shelves we purchased. Asked at the store and we were told "that's how they're coming to us". We were in a time crunch so purchased as is. What's the real explanation and by using without tie supports and getting our own bolts does the 2000 lb rating label still hold and what do the modifications do to the warranty?
