Kia car recall
I received a recall notice about my car's catalytic converter and made an appointment with kia of fargo to address this issue. Kia of Fargo schedules several weeks out. Took my car in (a sixty mile trip one way for me, by the way), they told me I needed a new catalytic converter, which we already knew because that was the reason the car was recalled. However, they told me they had to order one because corporate won't let them keep an inventory on site. Thus, I have to take my car in AGAIN when the part arrives (another sixty mile drive one way), for work that should have been completed in one trip. Most places would keep parts needed for recall work on site. Your policy of not allowing this is jaw-droppingly stupid, and certainly discourages repeat business.
Engine was broken
Two months ago, my car is broken on the road. I had to ask AAA to tow my car to a Kia dealer. But I haven’t get my car fixed until today. Two months!!

Numerous problems with the car
Recently, I purchased a brand new 2020 Kia Soul. The car had numerous problems arise within the first three weeks. It pulled to the right on highway driving. I made an appointment with the technician at Kia of Irvine where I bought the vehicle. When I arrived she told me "that they don't have the right equipment to align the car." Oddly, if she knew that, in advance of my 90 mile trip, why didn't she mentioned it. I could have them send me to a different facility. That problem is a covered warranty issue. I took it in stride and recalled in two weeks. Again, she told me the same thing. I knew such deliberate evasiveness was unacceptable. I searched for another dealer. In the meantime, the brakes would fail or not properly disengage from a the IDEL stope-start-up position. Groaning and banging occurred. Correspondingly, sometimes the car just would not start.
Immediately, I took it to a Kia dealership in the Hi-Desert region of Southern California - where I reside. They've had it for 2 1/2 weeks and have not been able to fix the car. It now sits dead in their garage. Finally, I was referred to Kia Corporate Customer Service where I encounter T.J. Immediately, he recognized the many troubling problems and stepped in to take action. He was empathic, understanding, competent and gracious. I rested assured that now resolute progress would be made. Let's see what transpires.
Kia Sedona recall
I rec'd letter advising a recall on my vehicle, VIN JT4RN93P4P5008227. The alleged problem indicates a potential for a "fire" of my vehicle without warning. Have had vehicle checked at Kia dealer, no record found of recall and no follow up letter indicating a time frame for correction of the vehicle's problem. If this "recall" issue of vehicle is so criticial, what reason is there that your company is slow in making a "repair" process available ASAP.
2020 Kia Soul
I own a 2020 Kia Soul with only 7500 miles. We brought the vehicle in a number of times for service as it relates to a very dangerous intermittent stalling problem. The feature that allows the car to shut off when at stop lights then restart when the driver is ready to proceed is faulty. When the traffic light turns green and the foot comes off the brake pedal, the car engine turns on. When then the gas pedal is pressed, the car begins forward then suddenly stalls out in the middle of the intersection. To get the vehicle going again, the car must be put in park, the key must be turned to the "off" position, and only then can the car be restarted. As you can see, this is an insanely dangerous problem. Should it occur crossing to a median on a busy road with higher speed limits, it could end in disaster.
While Kia does not officially acknowledge that this is a problem with these vehicles, it is something that Kia and the legal community is most certainly aware of.
Recognizing how seriously I take this problem, our Kia dealership ran diagnostics sending the results to the corporate service advisors and it was decided to put in an entirely new motor. While it is admirable that Kia is doing the right thing, there is no lead time for when the replacement motor will be available to install. Consequently, we are making payments on a car we have no idea when we will get it back. And, the local dealership cannot authorize a loaner until the engine comes in ...AND for no more than 5 days.
This is the beginning of week 3 without a vehicle.
6 months wait
I have waited almost 6mon… new engine being replaced for the third time. 2017 Kia soul.
Oil leak
Jim Shorkey did an oil change on my car 5/23, i did not go anywhere on 5/24, went to work 5/25 & a puddle of oil was on my garage floor. I called to get it fixed, they told me i can drop my car off tonight, it may take a few days or could be quick, but i should just go rent a car from enterprise if i needed to get home or to work! WOW, i will NEVER buy another car or have my car serviced there again!!!!
Part on back order case # 13152384
I am without a vehicle due to a part on back order (lift gate) until May 11th. My local Kia dealership in Victorville, CA cannot approve a car to use in the meantime unless the District Parts Mngr of the West Coast approves (he is in meetings all week) no one else on this earth can approve I’m told. This is not acceptable, it’s not my fault the part isn’t available in the United States. I’m told I can rent a car in the meantime and request Kias reimbursement for rental which also gets approved by the same person. Unbelievable.
